Integrative
Reflexology is based on four theories. 1) Meridians, channels through which subtle body life force energy flows, also called chi. 2) Structure,
skeletal alignment of the bones in the feet and fascial integrity balances our body upward. 3) Zones, grids that help us to
systematically locate points and areas of the body. 4) Proprioceptors, nerves that give information that may correspond to
reflex points. The nerve sends information to the brain which stimulates the organ or body part indicted in the foot.
There are reflex areas in the hands and feet
that correspond to every part of the body including organs and glands. The benefits of stimulating the areas on the feet for
healing purposes were known by our ancestors all over the world. The areas can be affected by stimulating the appropriate
reflex point with finger or thumb compression. Reflexology is used to alleviate stress and tension, enhance deep relaxation ,
increase digestive response and constipation relief, reduce swelling in feet and lower limbs, increased lymphatic, nerve and
blood circulation, and reduce muscular tension in neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, sciatic area and the back.
Your Reflexologists will apply precise pressure
to release blockages that inhibit energy flow and cause pain and dis-ease. This affects the internal organs and glands by
stimulating reflex of the body. There are 7,200 nerve endings in the feet and it is thought that pressure applied to certain
areas help to break up blockages around the nerve endings which enhances the flow of fluid.
Reflexology can also be helpful for people with hypertension,
anxiety, insomnia or people experiencing muscular pain. It is a simple and safe way to induce relaxation and a genuine
sense of well being. Along with a way to help the body heal itself. By having your feet massaged and specific points worked,
your whole body feels refreshed and relaxed.
